Frisco has world-class sports venues, and this August, one of them becomes an art gallery. The Visual Arts Guild of Frisco is bringing Art in the Arena back to Comerica Center Arena for its third annual run, taking place August 21-23, 2026. Up to 65 emerging and established local and regional artists will exhibit across two levels of the arena, using both the floor and the concourse to create one of the most distinctive fine art festival settings in North Texas.

What to Expect at the Event

The weekend opens with a VIP night that includes an awards reception, a Texas-sized buffet, live music, and a juried art pop-up gallery. For anyone who has been to a hockey game at Comerica Center, the transformation is worth seeing on its own terms. The arena floor and concourse, typically built for pucks and crowds, get converted into a walkable gallery experience that gives each artist real visibility and gives visitors a way to move through the work at their own pace.

The festival is sponsored in part by the Dallas Stars Hockey Team and made possible through a grant from the Frisco Arts Foundation. That combination of sports and arts backing reflects something real about how Frisco operates: the city's identity as Sports City, USA does not exclude the creative community, it makes room for it.

Who Is Behind the Festival

Visual Arts Guild of Frisco was founded in 2001 as a volunteer-run nonprofit organization built around one clear mission: to provide opportunities for local visual artists to promote their work and cultivate public appreciation for the visual arts. In the 25 years since, it has grown into a vital part of the local arts scene, hosting monthly meetings, juried exhibitions at the Frisco Discovery Center, and the Art in the Arena festival, which is now in its third year.

For artists, booth reservations for the 2026 festival closed July 26. For visitors, the event is open across all three days of the August 21-23 weekend.
